The permanence of impermanence

The water has disappeared into the water;
it knows not whither, nor whence,
Like dreams and illusory shadows,
Transient and ephemeral,
Disappear without a trace.

Things always end,
with death.
But first there was life,
Veiled beneath the mundane banter.
It settles beneath the constant chatter and noise,
Amidst the hush of silence and sentimental musings.
Emotions and fears intertwined,
In fleeting glimpses of haggard,
ever-changing beauty.
All buried under the cover of the embarrassment of being in the world.
Beyond, there lies what lies beyond.

Every phenomenon, be it material or mental,
Is a compounded object in a continuous change of condition,
Subject to decline and destruction.
All physical and mental events are impermanent,
And without inherent existence.
They are not constant or permanent;
They arise and pass away,
Each moment giving rise to the next
In a continuous flow of transformation.

Nothing is lost,
Nothing is created,

All is transformed.
