THE CRITICAL POINT
Body and spirit, eros and the sacred, agony and bliss—
all are the same consciousness flickering at different frequencies.
When intensity crosses its threshold, the spectrum of experience saturates;
dissolution and transcendence mirror each other,
and the mind’s bare topology emerges,
where everything settles into a single gray.
The images in the work — crucifixion, excess, beheading —
are merely entry points into extremity.
The little death, the snap of pain,
the rise of suffering into radiance,
the drift at the edge of life—
these states fold into one underlying response of the mind.
Along the critical line, sensation and meaning collapse together;
body and divinity, eros and sanctity, violence and bliss fall out of opposition.
Every divided category slides toward a single point of convergence.
Consciousness drops into a non-dual, undifferentiated field—
a gray plain left when experience bottoms out
and the world withdraws.
